Political, Economical & Social Impact

Social Impact

World Hunger
The social impacts of Agricultural Biotechnology will be massive. Thanks to Agricultural Biotechnology scientists will be able to develop crops that are more nutritious and plants that can yield more. Crops can be genetically altered to grow in harsh conditions. Some crops will be able to grow with minute amounts of water, be resistive to pests, or grow in much colder climates. These new crops will benefit the Earth's population by providing food for all humans. With the possibility of ending world hunger people can prosper and become more civilized. The death rates in many third world countries will decrease significantly.

Medicine

Scientists have been able to develop edible vaccines through Agricultural Bioengineering. With this new type of medication vaccines can be delivered to large populations without the need of mass distribution. This innovation will significantly improve the health of the world's population. Vaccines that cannot be delivered to third world countries can now be grown.
Improving Human Health
With Agricultural Biotechnology scientists can make crops more nutritious. For populations that lack or have a deficiency in nutrients, a whole lot of food is nolonger needed to keep them healthy. We can improve human health by increasing the nurient levels in crop yields; scientists can make food tougher or simply more nutritious. A human needs at least 2,000 calories; if we can power pack small amounts of crops to hold all the recurred daily nutrients and calories a human needs, there is no need to mass produce food and we can use valuable resources like water and land for other beneficial things, like to expanding civilizations.

Economical Impact

Economically speaking we can significantly reduce the cost of vaccines and foods. With the ability to mass produce vaccines with crops, we can reduce the cost of vaccines to  a fraction of their current production cost. We will be able to give third world countries the vaccines that they could not afford before. The price of food will also go down due to overproduction which will allow the food to reach the poor. Since the crops have been toughened they will grow wild in nature, which allows the poor more access to food. This development could harm the economy for farmers, and could be a potential for a decrease in farming, which can cause many jobs to be lost though. Potential, regulations may specify who can grow and distribute genetically modified food in order to control the impact on farmers.

Political Impact

Agricultural Biotechnology can lead to the rapid development of third world countries, which demands more power in the world and organizations like teh UN. This change may lead to future conflicts between countries. Government corruption could occur in the developing countries becaus of teh development of genetically modified foods.
